Glamping offers the perfect outdoor experience with a touch of luxury. Our glamp cabins allow you to reconnect with nature and escape technology, providing a serene atmosphere without power points or TVs. Choose from our selection of island glamping cabins sleeping up to 2 people, featuring a comfortable queen size bed, private en suite, and a veranda with a view of the native gardens.
The beach is just a short walk away, and our on-site cafe serves coffee and meals. Enjoy outdoor BBQs in the glamp kitchen or simply unwind with a glass of wine. Each tent has solar powered lighting and comes with linen and bath towels, including Botany native Australian Shower products. Don't forget to bring your own beach towel and consider purchasing bottled water from our Castaways Store as the island only has bore water. And don't miss the breathtaking sunset at Bulwer Wrecks, just a short stroll from your cabin. Glamping combines the best of the great outdoors and luxury.
About Castaways
Castaways is located on Moreton Island, approximately 40km off Brisbane's coast. To reach the island, you'll need to book a ferry (passenger or 4WD). The Micat ferry departs from the Port of Brisbane and the journey takes about 90 minutes.
Once you arrive at Moreton Island, Castaways is situated in the township of Bulwer, a 20-minute drive north from the ferry landing at the Tangalooma Wrecks.
Regardless of the tide, you can reach Castaways from the Micat landing point by traversing the beach using the inland tracks. When you reach the Bulwer Wrecks, turn right and head into town to check-in at Castaways.
As Moreton Island has no sealed roads and is a sand island, a 4WD vehicle is required to access it. However, if you don't have one, don't worry! Castaways offers a transfer service that picks you and your luggage up from the Micat landing point at the Tangalooma Wrecks and drops you off there for your return journey. Make sure to include the transfer service when booking your accommodation, as the walk is quite long.
